Chemical Hazards

Hazardous chemicals can cause injury to the workers working in the plant, Occupational diseases on prolonged exposure, fire & explosion and Environmental damage.

1.Personal Hazards Burn injury to the body, skin, eyes,face ect. due acids,alkalies and some elemental substances like Phosphrous, Sodium etc.
2.Occupational Diseases Occupational diseases sets in after prolonged exposure to certain chemicals over a period of about 5 to 10 years. These diseases causes permanent impairment to the specific organs of the body depending upon the hazardous chemical exposed.It is difficult to cure the diseases and so prevention is the only option.
3. Fire and Explosion Certain chemicals are inflamable and can cause major fire hazards.Certain chemical fumes and gases can cause explosion when ignited by any source in the sorounding. Auto ignition and explosion is posible with certain incompatible chemicals.
4. Environmental damage Chemicals in liquid and gaseous form, when let out or leaks into the environment can cause major damage to land ,water and air, which may be a threat to the lives.
